Just a few photos from the weekend

On Friday, we dropped Connor off at Amy's for the weekend, but whilst we were down there, Amy and I took Connor fishing, considering it was a typical Wellington windy day, I was surprised he lasted the 10 minutes or so we did...didn't catch anything though.

However, yesterday Steph and I went down to Lake Ferry with the kite, and Mike and Lara came too. Thankfully the kite performed, and dragged 1 Kawhai in, no to bad size either. Unfortunatly whilst draggin the kite back in, the wind dropped and it fell in the water, so it was hard slog getting it back in, and we almost lost the kite in the last 5 metres as there is a sand drop off that it got buried in, and some very carefully timed pulling managed to get it out, but the cross spurs on the kite snapped, thankfully they are replaceable.

A Productive weekend.

Well,spring is here, and we're are finally getting back into the doing mode. Mid week, we had an arborist to drop the rest of the Mac, and then this weekend we've spent trying to clean it up. Unfortunatly I've spent a fair bit of time trying to get the tractor to work, but to no joy, got to check the spark next, and maybe clean out the fuel tank again.

This afternoon whilst cleaning up some of the branches from the Mac, I discovered a nice long stump, and it screamed "Plane" to me, so armed with the chainsaw I proceeded to create....Connor thought it was great! So enough rambling, here's some photos from the weekend.

Connor's First Hunt

Yesterday, Steph, Connor and I went for our first rabbit hunt. Connor had great fun, giving me the "thumbs up" when the rabbits were hit, or going "Oh No!!!" with hands up to the face too when I missed. The first rabbit I shot, he came over with me to pick up, here are some photos from that.
